Re: REM - Brake lights (piperw1!)

i believe that once a rem is used (downloaded) to a specific car, it cannot be used for another car - it can only be downloaded once ...probably have to bite the bullet and buy a new one

Re: REM - Brake lights (piperw1!)

I assume your service department has made this diagnosis from OBD hook-up, but assuming they are wrong there are some things I might try first before spending $750. I think I would change the fuse even if it looks good. Here is the location of the fuse. http://new.volvocars.com/owner...pg145 It is fuse 3 in the cargo compartment and is 15A. Also I would try and remove the bulbs and clean the contacts and apply dielectric grease. The final thing I would consider doing is disconnect the battery in attempt to reset the REM. You should wait at least 5 minutes after the last run cycle before doing this.
Disclaimer: My picture is used in the dictionary with the Murphy's Law entry

Re: REM - Brake lights (piperw1!)

is it possible to "jump" REM and route the signal directly from the switch to the lights?
