Envisioning my next project car, I was looking for something that was timely and had the potential for a broad appeal. At the time, our 2006 Project V70R was at the higher end with the latest generation R and mods. I wanted to go in a similar but different direction on a more realistic budget. Newer Volvo owners may consider this project car old school, but the first generation V70 has a loyal following.
Full Story
127 V70 T5M's imported to the USA in 1998, so it's not surprising you couldn't find a charcoal interior. I personally know of 4 V70 T5M's that have been totaled, including my own, so they're not getting any easier to find. Should be a nice project.

Very cool. Can't wait to see the next installments.
Although some of us know what they're going to be. I saw Chris' thread moved to the Black Hole!

It's fortunate that this car is in good hands now, because it really is a project. If it was a run-of-the-mill T5 automatic I don't think anybody would have saved it.

I'm planning to go from perfos to pegs permanently. Can you say what will replace the pegs? 18" volution v's maybe?

Ok, let's have that from another angle. Side view por favor. What did you do?

Re: Re: (pelicanflyt)

I picked up some black vinyl from a Signs by Tomorrow store. a 30" x 30" piece of flat black. You need about 6" x 21" strips for each section. Here's another pict from last night - I'll snap picts outside today. The biggest challenge and time consuming part was getting the vinyl under the rubber seals. If you can remove them, it will speed things along and make the install a bit easier. Just take your time, has water with a hint of soap under to allow the bubbles to be worked out.
The tint looks darker than it really is - only a 50% tint (VA legal)
