Hello all. I got the first regular maintenance warning light on my wife's XC90. Anyone know how to turn it off or reset manually? Thanks in advance.
First off, you need to get the maint done. If taking it to the dealer to get the main then do not
reset the light. Let them do it. If you taek it to someone that doent know how to reset
the light, then you are taking the car to the wrong place to get it serviced. They should know
Volvos.
I believe this will clear it... ( I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong)
insert key
turn key to first click
hold in the ODO button
turn key to second click while holding button in
maint light will flash a few times
let go of button

Re: Regular maintenance warning light (dmd)

Thanks for the quick answer. Okay here is an another question. I took the wife's XC90 to local shop and had an oil change at 7000 miles and now it has 9000 miles. Do you think I still need to take it to dealer. I was going to take it when it will have about 12000 miles.

maybe not this one but the next service interval you should. they repalce the cabin air filters, etc.
regular service is every 7500 miles.

As long as you cover the maint items in the manual, weather you do it or someone else
(and you can prove it) then it doesnt matter.... Also, if the person that changed the oil
didnt know how to reset it, then you should take it someplace else. They have no idea
what needs to be done during the service

IIRC, there is no hard and fast rule that says the light comes on every 7500 miles. Therefore, I deduce that the Jiffy Lube did not reset it. Take a few moments and clear the light yourself.

You can do it yourself also, just keep the receipts for the parts as proof of
service for warranty reasons.

1. Turn ignition switch to position I.
2. Press and hold "day counter reset button".
3. Turn ignition to position II.
4. Continue holding day counter for about 10 seconds.
5. While SRL flashes, release day counter reset button.
6. Should hear "beep-beep" to confirm command accepted.
Hope this helps.
