It looks like the red line on my 04 GT is around 6700; at least that's where the red lines start. However, if I reach about 6300 there is a very distinct feeling that I have reached the red line. I have read somewhere in this forum that shifting around 5500 is better anyway, but I am just curious as to where the red line is.

Mash, I am not sure if what I feel @ 6300 is a flat spot. It feels like a limiter. The car is still new (less that 2000 kilometers, even though it is an 04) and I am wondering if this is normal. I see people talking about 6800 rpm and I feel that I cannot get up there (not that I have pushed it).
