I need new spark plugs, should i go with OEM or with NGK Laser Platinum plugs that George at Viva sells?<p>thanks,<br>Dave

OEM plugs. John at Boston Volvo can get the right part number to you pretty cheap.

what kind of $$ are we talking for these plugs and what does the stealership want to put them in. Im assuming they can be done at an indy shop for much cheaper?

Also remember, when ordering plugs, or any parts...give in the VIN, its the easiest because 04s actually use different plugs than 05s+. Some of us found out the hard way.<p>OEM FTW <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://********************/smile/emthup.gif" BORDER="0">

I would but I dont have a torque wrench and dont want to mess them up. I had no problem on my last POS car but I dont want to screw this one up lol.

Buying a torque wrench will still be less than tha indie more than likely and you'll own the wrench when its all said and done.Sears sell a decent torque wrench or you could go to harbor freight and get a cheapie.

Learned this the hard way, over more than one occasion. Not only can you <B><I><U>not</U></I></B> trust *any* parts houses for this, you cant trust *many* Volvo dealerships. You can, however, trust John Sharisky. 04 and 05+ plugs are the same. Order from BVV, do them in your driveway, basic tools are required. If you can get the OTE pipe off (and you can, trust me), you can do the job. Save yourself $500 in labor from Volvo's shop prices.

You don't need a torque wrench to do this. Snug them up and be careful when starting the threads to avoid cross-threading.
