You probably found someone in the last month, but just in case: my independent Volvo service guy recommended Lawrence Volvo in Walnut Creek. He thought they had the best service department in the bay area.
Many of us on here use and are very happy with AutoNation Volvo SJ. Paul is the GM and he can put you in touch with one of his Sales people. I use them for Service as they are one of the 3 authorized Polestar Centers in the Bay Area. I would personally avoid Price Auto Group(Marin/Palo Alto Volvo), but that's me.

I use Lawrence Volvo in Walnut Creek for service, and have been happy with them. Last Volvo purchase was our 2007 C70, almost nine years ago. At that time, C70's weren't being discounted very much, and for some reason I ended up buying the car at McKevitt in Berkeley, which was closer to where I work. They were fine to work with as far as the purchase process went.
If you are thinking about doing the European purchase route (pick up the car in Sweden, or at one of the other pick-up points in Europe, drive it for a while on your trip, and then have it shipped home), you may need to plan well in advance. Both in terms of the usual intervals for an ordered car, as well as making sure that the dealer has a "slot" for you.... (I THINK it is the case that each dealer gets some number of European purchase slots, but I could be wrong.)
A friend of mine has done three such purchases through Lawrence, one time picking up in Sweden, one time in Belgium, and I think one time in Italy.
