So I was thinking about this and I think it may be a good idea to list shops/dealers that people recomend. This may be worth stickying if we can keep it clean. Please only put shops that you have been to and recomend and not shops/dealers that are thought of in a negative manner. Lets try to keep witty coments out of this.
This thread may prove to be a good resource.
Include:
-Name of shop/dealer(mod freindly or not if a dealer)
-location
-phone number
-website
-contact

We should create the sticky, with 50 links or sub-links w/the name of each state. Then, one can click on their state and see quickly the dealers. Just a thought rather than wading thru one big thread.

That's a good idea. I'll look into making that happen.
Another potentially useful bit of info to include is whether or not they're a Volvo authorized retailer altogether . . . sometimes it isn't easy to tell by name alone.

Maybe add an international area for those of us with positive reviews overseas? I know myself and wrxownr have a good relationship with the dealer/servicer here in the UK that we would love to add.
Kevin

Re: Recomended Shops for S60R/V70R (R_Rated)

I thought at one time there was a "dealership" catagory within the Swedespeed Community.
I like the idea of limiting the recommendations to only the S60R and V70R. I can think of one dealer in Southern California that is fine with cars other than "Rs", for example.
There is also the dynamic issue. I can think of two dealers in Texas that I would not have taken a Radio Flyer to, however they have made significant changes recently. One due to the elimination of a key person who "resigned to pursue other opportunities", and another dealer that changed ownership and attitude, and started it off by hiring a known super-tech from the disbanded FoMoCo SVT group.
The above that come to mind were in the right direction however it does cut both ways, and of course the opinion portion is my own.
I too agree that we should flag the "indies" as there are some excellent ones in Northern California for example, and given a choice I suspect many would chose them as opposed to a negative dealer experience.

anyway we can stick to the format and although positive posts were made.... perhaps make it easier to look up the info intended.

They also installed aftermarket parts for me. Talk to Lonnie in service if you ever need to take your car in there.
Rempt did a very good job of helping me diagnose some issues I was having. They even gave me a ride home for free when I dropped my car off. They had to drive about 30 miles to my place. Rempt will take care of transporting your car back to your house when they are done too. He has a really good trailer for that sort of thing. Ask for Joshua.
