So today was a lovely day about 85 degrees out and i enjoyed it plenty. Today the car for squirly (i cant spell) but long story short i put in a new IPD HD TCV, from day one it was straight to about 10.5-11 PSI and the gauge starts at +.5 ish so its about dead on. This was the first really warmish day and i was crusin around. First thing i noticed... now it goes to about 15-16 psi (i think somethings wrong) but i also put on new vac lines when i did the TCV. second thing... driving around the ambiant air temp gauge in the car was okay then i stopped parked the car for a little and it sky rocketed to 120 degrees. after sitting a little bit it went down to about 93 but no lower, after turning the car on it started to climb back up. its wierd like its in the shade and hasnt been drivin in about 2 hours and its still reading 95 degrees out.
I did was the car today but it was no different than any other time i wash the car. I was also recently (new years eve) in an accident but ive washed the car 2x since then not including today. Im just wondering what the reasons could be for my sudden change in boost from around 10.5 to 16 ish now, and why my ambiant air gauge is so damn high. Warm weater? idk

Re: Recent issues... (KurT5)

My ambient air temp has also be reading noticeably higher than the temps on the local news for the area. I was reading 102 when I started my car and it dropped to 97 and stayed here after driving across town. The news said the high was 91, I understand temps fluctuate but I do think the sensor is reading higher than it actually is - its been hot & humid perhaps the temp factors in the humidity.
Not sure about your boost issue, I would expect a bump in boost when it gets cooler not hotter. I recently installed an IPD TCV and it has improved the boost delivery for me. I am in the process of replacing most of the vacuum lines.

Re: Recent issues... ([email protected])

yea my boost delivery was amazing after installing it and i fell in love. Today was just a weird day. It was great then outa nowhere it started gettin odd. The temp was hoverin around 93 even though it was only like 83 out and then the boost was flyin around 15-16 psi and i was like woah doggie because when i was initially puttin it in it never went over about 10.5 im just wondering what could cause this issue. My friend tried to tell me that because it was hotter im making more boost but it took a while to explain to him that cold air is easier to compress than hot air. I checked the vac lines coming off the waste gate and compressor and all the TCV lines and everything is bran spanky new so i didnt see any issues. I just wonder after being in an accident if sh*t hit the fan cause that was my biggest worry

ALL (every single solitary one) 98-00's ambient temp gauges show 3 to 4 degrees optimistic, (when they're working properly).
When they're not....
My wife's 2000 showed 115 today (WHILE DRIVING) I've just been too lazy to get a new sensor.
