My parents noticed some odd noises while turning on the way home yesterday evening, so I checked it out and saw that the fluid was low in the power steering reservoir. I looked under the car and saw ATF fluid from the steering rack. I took the car in this morning and my mechanic confirmed that the rack was leaking, and would need to be replaced-under warranty Lucky enough, this time there were racks in the area, and won't have to wait for a month for it to make an appearance.
First it took what seemed like forever, in actuality perhaps two plus weeks, for the steering not to feel like rack and pinion. And now this. All I have to say is BOOOOOOOO!
Have a most splendid evening one and all

Re: rebuilt power steering rack has failed after three months............... (JRL)

My mechanic got it from World Pac, and the company who remanufactured it was Mavel. I am not too happy with the situation, but what can one do? Have a wonderful evening JRL
