62 PV 544, stored idle 7-8 years. No brake pedal, so remove master cylinder, sleeve it with stainless (it was corroded inside), install rebuild kit. No pedal pressure at all; feels just the same as before I started this exercise. Line from the reservoir on the firewall is clear, and with one brake bleed point either open or closed no fluid moves and no resistance at the pedal. Would GREATLY appreciate any and all comments and advice.

Thanks,

Al

Had it sleeved by Apple Hydraulics, and the hole is there. The new piston and spring are the same total length as the old ones, but the new piston is longer than the original.

Did you do a bench bleed of the m/c? If not, try that to see if the problem is with the m/c sleeve install.

There is a second "equalizing" hole, in front of the main reservoir hole. Was that drilled in the sleeve and is it clear? A longer piston might be blocking it. It should be totally clear until the plunger is pressed in about 0.5mm.

Which brake master cylinder is on the car?...

If it is the old version...

...consider an upgrade...

...to include other new stuff as needed.

It turns out the the piston in the rebuild kit is about 1/8" longer than original, and seems to block the equalizing hole. Got a kit from a different supplier that has the correct piston.
