Had the car in for its 15,000 mile service and 2 days prior it started making a pretty impressive noise from the rear wheels. This comes 2 thousand miles after new tires courtesy of Pirelli due to a cupping issue.
Just got called and they replaced both rear wheel bearings. One was making noise and the other they did 'because we were doing the other' which I find hard to believe less they are milking the warranty wagon from Volvo.
Our 2003 XC90 had a rear bearing fail around 20 thousand miles. maybe a bad batch of bearings but seems awfully early to me.
Now I just have to navigate the Ford 500 loaner (all out of Volvo loaners) back in the snow....I can't call it a bad car, but sure is not a Volvo (but maybe in 5 years who knows)
