I am investigating the idea of putting an air lift system in my XC for those times when I'm packed to the hilt. I saw there is currently a rubber insert in the middle of the coil spring and want to know if this can be replaced with the poly air lift. And also what does this rubber component do?
The inflatable air lift is placed inside of the coil and when needed all you use is a bike pump or service air and can compensate for up to 1000 lbs.
Otherwise is there any way to help the car out when I've got all my gear in there?? Saw the overload springs but there not for the XC.
Thanks...
Kirk

Hi Kirk, try to contact member FlntRoc (here or on volvospeed). I guess he did something like that.

Re: Rear suspension diagram?? Want to install air lift..... (Kaizai)

The link with the low-rider seems to be a bit excessive but I saw there was a shock/sping combo in one pic that looks like what I was getting at. I think I will try to get the inside dimension and height of my spring and try to find an air lift to match.
Anyone know these dims off hand??
Thanks for the posts.....
Kirk
