Hi,
I’m considering replacing the rear lower engine mount on my 02 V70XC. I’ve done (this pig) of a job on my fwd S60 and was wondering whether it’s much more difficult with the AWD in the way. Has anyone done this job? If so any comments?

Same as a fwd.

Use R motor mounts.

Wobble extension(s) are very helpful

I have done the job on my AWD D5. It is about the same as as FWD car.
It is a little easer if you drop the back of the subframe. Unbolting the rack so it stays in place, as you lower the subframe down from it.
The only problem I have is I have got to do it again as the good used mount I had has now split it vacuum diaphragm.
On the Diesel D5 the mounts have a vacuum pipe going to them , to adjust the hardness of the mounts depending on engine speed.
Unfortunately on the new ones you also have to change the aluminium bracket as Volvo changed the mount design.
