On the 2018 R-Design models, the rear seat footwells do not have a light, however, they do have the connector, mounting hole and wiring all present for one. I bought two LED lights, like the rest of the footwell lights currently installed in the front seats and tried plugging them in. No joy. Does anybody know if it's simply not connected further up the chain, or is it a software programming issue of not being turned on?

Here's the lights I purchased in case anyone else in interested in figuring this out:

I have them installed on my MY2018, i also have the LED footstep bars that are not connected.
A Volvoforummember in Holland had this connected himself on the light under the footwell and the system recognised the current change, shut all interior-light off..

I believe that The Volvo guys CUT the cable further front in the car. Can't remember the reason, though.

It probably depends on the market, I have R design and I have the lights on rear foot-well - it's Interior light package, high level

Yes and no.

Yes they worked, after I ran new wires spliced into the footwell lighting for the driver and front passenger. But then, I decided to also add the sill plate lighting at the bottom of the driver and front passengers door frames. I however couldn't get all four newly added lights to work at the same time. If I only added three, and it didn't matter which three I tried as I tried every combination, as soon as I added the forth light, they all shut off. My guess is there was just to much current draw to run the additional four lights off the front footwells circuitry. So I ended up dropping the rear footwell lights in favor of the sill plate lighting.

Thanks for the update. I figured I needed to splice in to the front foot well lighting as well. Back when you posted this I tried to our the lights however they were on national back order and my order was cancelled. I will try again. Thanks for all you troubleshooting efforts.
