i was doing a detail on the R and got to cleaning and polishing the pegs, and the paint started coming off. looks like the dealer refinished the rims. i was pulling off the paint to reveal the original finish and i came across a few spots of spot putty.
i'm gonna have to repaint the set of pegs as i do not want to drop a grand on these stock rims. any suggestions/opinions on what color would look sweet on the silver R?
i was gonna pick from these volvo colors.
931 Dark Silver Metallic Wheel Paint Kit
932 Anthracite Silver Wheel Paint Kit
935 White Silver Wheel Paint Kit
936 Bright Silver Wheel Paint Kit
938 Silver Stone Wheel Paint Kit

Re: re-paint color recommendation on pegs for silver R (SHIFT_S60R)

I like the dark look on a silver R, so go with whichever darker color you prefer.
More importantly, have you notified your retailer of the condition of the wheels? If they refinished the wheels and that isn't holding up, it's their responsibility to get it right.

i bought it used so it is my fault for not inspecting the rims close enough, even so i informed the dealer and he offered me a price of 220 for 18" pegs. for the price i paid for the car it's a minor inconveniece for myself. in a year or so i'll go ahead and get myself a nice pair of rims.
from what i've read here, it seems as if the pegs aren't made to for durability, but for now they'll do. it's hard to find the simplicity that the pegs bring to the S60 in other rims. i've gotten so many compliments on the design of the pegs.

Re: (SHIFT_S60R)

Actually Pegs are quite easy to paint well.
I would be a bit concerned about the bondo though, still there are worse things than to have a bit of bondo on a wheel.
I would have them done professionally as they are screwed up now.
If they were "virgin" wheels I would say, sure, do them yourself, but removing or completely sanding down what's there PROPERLY may be more then you want to tackle and you WILL have to get rid of what's on there or you will have too much paint on the wheels since apparently they are already painted once (or twice), depending if you call the original paint a coat
