Hello All,
Well I decided to take the R out to see how it would peform at the drags. The runs were very consistant. However, I coundn't exceed the 93 MPH mark. The absolute best time I had was a 14.495 at 92.981 MPH. The track is about 5,500 ft with a temp of about 85.
Reaction Time .441
60 Ft. 2.013
660 9.266
ET> 14.495
MPH 92.981
I was in the left lane with this time and was running against a 2004 Corvette with bolt ons mods. I beat the Corvette until slighlty after 660 ft mark. He then caught me and only beat me by 3/4 of a second.
The track condition is terrible. It's old and never gets any maintenance.

What kind of fuel did you run? Was is pump 91 or 93? Or did you get some high-octane race fuel before your runs?

At that altitude and ambient temp, those really aren't bad numbers.
And that 60 foot time is about as good as you're going to get without completely abusing the clutch . . . looks like you've learned how to feather it "just right."
Good job!

I might take mine out to Indianapolis Raceway Park. They have drags every Tuesday. Never done it before. It's a decent track.

The clutch is real sensitive for launching. In fact the clutch slipped the for the first time when I decided to hammer it. I'll never do that again.....
Nonetheless, I was running about 8 gallons of 91 in the tank.

The Nationals there are a "must see" for any motorsports fan. Until you've had your senses pummeled by 5000 hp dragsters, you haven't lived.
Let us know how it works out. I like hearing about how folks make out at the track (any track).

In terms of the headwind, I didn't notice. I think the 92MPH and good time is attributable to the good 660 time. It seems that the car reaches a maximum velocity in the quarter mile sooner rather than later.
