I own a '96 Volvo 850 (not turbo). I have been reading/hearing a little bit about how some people run a piece of piping or hose from somewhere out to the front grille, as a kind of makeshift ram air induction. Does anyone know anything about this? From the little I have heard, it sounds easy and cheap enough for a newbie like me to do. Thanks.

it definitely is a great idea to have cold air piping into your intake system, what people are talking about mainly is if you have an open element (cone) filter which needs cooler air to maximize hp increases. Never the less, it is a good idea to supply as much cold air as possible to the engine bay, regardless of where the air goes, the cooler you can keep the air in the engine bay, the better your performance and the less heat build up will challenge your air intake turbo (for FA Cars) and engine itself.
Good luck, i recommend the Weapon R.
David
850 T-5R
