All of these Rs were photographed within 1 mile of my house... Just a typical day in "R Land" (the R in Ramstein stands for R).

These are all in the parking lot for the HQ Compound...

And of course this one, which I always see outside my apartment...

There are at least 10 more Rs I see on a regular basis on Ramstein, but in a tyipical day I will see about 16+.
Going to be VERY strange not seeing any others in Panama City, FL in about a month from now.

Why is that? I mean, why are there so many R's in your area?
The red one looks mean but could use some rear wheel spacers.
The silver one looks like it has some front spoiler damage.
I really like the European license plates.

Also, the R appeals to military men for its power and looks, and to their wives because it is a Volvo with 4 doors. The women I've spoke with that bought an R, had no idea that it was special, they just bought what the salesmen sold them. Well, except for the Lesbian that bought the Flash Green, she was into fast cars and hot chicks...

For US cars that don't have enough area to mount the long Euro style tags they have the small US sized tags and the first two letters are HK. You can spot US cars by these letters and also a lot of them will be hugging the left lane, which is illegal in many Euro countries and is enforced in Germany.
There are changes in progress that started just as I was leaving. Took a while. As a measure of force protection they are changing the tags so the US registered cars cannot be readily identified as if they had a "bulls eye" marked on them. They will have the same first letters as the communities they live in, just as if they were German.
On a note, for German tags, the number of letters in this first group directly relates to how many cars are registered in that community. For instance, tags that have the letter "F", "M", or "B" mean these cars are registered in "Frankfurt", "Munich", or "Berlin", which are large cities. The letters "TR", or "KS" mean these cars are registerd in "Trier" or "Kaiserslaurten" and are medium size cities. Then in my old town "BIT" which is Bitburg and is a small city.
Just a little trivia, it helps you identify knuckle heads that don't live in your community and are lost!!!!

Wow Kelly R's everywhere. Funny though most if not all of their fog light grills are closed (except yours of course ) so much for euro spec.
Euro plates.
I want them damn it.

Re: (Arnaud S40)

the car above in the red with the aftermarket/exhaust/tip, which rear bumper is that? I'm putting on my dual exhaust and that looks interesting. That's not the volvo sport kit, is it?

Re: R Spotting (flybynight)

No, they certainly aren't open on '06s as a rule. In fact, here is an '06 GT I saw a couple of months ago.

Since the beginning, there has been a random number of cars besides Euro GTs that had the open grills. No pattern found among SS posters (some MTs even came with them), so we decided it is just whatever they had extra at the factory.
