R lost turbo power this morning.

I went out for a nice Sunday stroll. You know, the kind where you rev the engine and delight in the 300 horsepower. Everything was peachy for a while and then the car just lost turbo power, or at least that what I think happened. I can usually feel the turbo after 2700 rpm or so but I had nothing. It felt like I was driving a naturally aspirated car again. It seems to have low power before 2700 also. I've been to the dealer lately getting a new fuel pump which has also been interesting because they have never worked on an R. Some posts mentioned a non-working temp. gauge but mine works just fine. Anyone know a quick fix. I'm tired of driving my mother-in-law's 2000 V6 mustang around while the R is in the shop.

The deal with the coolant gauge at zero is for '06's and up.

Sounds like you blew a hose or a connection somewhere.

Must be something in the air this week, exactly the same thing happened to me this morning *
Off to the dealer in the morning for a voyage of discovery

I agree....something is leaking or disconnected.
Mine was the Intake Air Temp monitor, probably covered in oil
- took the opportunity to move back to normality and swap the regular springs back into the car and remove the Heico ones. :)

I didn't realize the IAT/MAP sensor had that much effect on the ECU
Just too low - I have the TME with the middle box and it was just hitting the ground all the time. Plus Nebraska is not well known for its awesome roads - just plain uncomfortable. Great on fast smooth roads, but for driving around was too much.
Looked really cool though :)

cmon guys! i dont hear volvo pride these days. it makes me sad. i would take my r over a brand spankn new 335xi. my car is like my biggest......... i cant even descrbe it. we should create a volvo day. we could buy our volvos presents, detail it and clay bar. put in 100+octane. and finally make it feel good about itself by pwning a m3, if you can!

Re: (R broski)

seems pretty dumb to join another message board just to preach on the superiority of your car.

we're probably giving him what he wants by even acknowledging him

I have the HEICO and the TME exhaust. PA road aren't that great either. The Springs are very comfortable and quiet in all modes, the only downside being 4" between the car and the road
