Re: R hoax! (Johann)

Thanks for the post Johann & nice detective work!
In the video from Aftonbladet, the car does look pretty low IMHO. What do you think?
Maybe the Haldex system really prohibit Volvo from lowering the suspension? Who knows...
-Drew

Re: R hoax! (Johann)

You didnt know that they lower cars more than stock for shows?????? Ever notice how in comericals cars seem to look a lot better than in real life, especailly the ride height..... Sad but a common marketing trick...
Spencer

Re: R hoax! (The_one_n_only)

I know other companies that put weights in the cars to acheive the same effect. That's not a real surprise.
As for Haldex, it can be lowered. There are plenty of TTs out there that prove that. I wonder if the new suspension changes in height as it is adjusted? The on-road pics show a car that still has an aggressive ride height, and I doubt they'd strap down a road going car...
That stinks about the way they were at the auto show. Generally though, there's a local firm handled to work the booth. They probably weren't Volvo employees and were probably under order not to allow people into the car ( I wouldn't know why though, except maybe because the cars are preproduction).

Heyyy, cool. I'm kinda diggin that new S4. I've driven the S8 and the motor sounds soooo good. This car is going to win a few friends. Now if they could just put the 3-spoke sport steering wheel in it and get rid of the carbon fiber interior trim.

Man...there is not much more room under that hood, with that 4.2L parked in there. If a mechanic drops a wrench, it better fall down on the floor otherwise...forget it!!!

Yannis
