I posted a couple of used oil analyses I have had done on my "R" recently at Bobistheoilguy.com. I also posted a copy of Dan J.'s analysis that he posted here a few months back (I hope that is ok Dan?). I used Amsoil 5W30 for two 5-6K intervals right after break in and then have just tried an interval with Castrol 0W30 (the famous green German Castrol or GC for short). Both the amsoil and GC did a great job in my V70R. Its hard to compare to another car (that may be driven more aggressively or just differently) but it does look to me like wear metals are a bit lower than Dan saw using Mobil 1 5W30. Anyway I thought you all might be interested in some of the discussion of different synthetic oils and how they held up in two "R" engines after several oil change analyses.
here is the URL: http://theoildrop.server101.co...03646

Re: "R" Discussion at Bobistheoilguy.com (PB11)

PB11: what always gets me with these oil analyses is that the numbers are experimentally determined values, obviously, and yet no one ever reports the error that is associated with a particular measurement. Without that information it is difficult, if not impossible, to determine if a difference is significant or not, and if so, by how much.
Blackstone knows how to calculate this information and is remiss in not providing it to its customers.
Peter
