Alright, as far as I know (correct me anyone if I'm wrong) to put those chrome R-design mirror caps on an 05, we'd have to switch our mirrors to 08 plus because the latter ones are bigger right?
and this cost like $300 ? hmm, has anyone done this? I'm really tempted.

I love those R design caps though, especially on a black S40.

Either carrera or sanatarium did it with success. I'd love to but can't justify the cost.

Re: (Veefifty T5AWD)

It was me, it was me! Kinda a pain to rewire the mirrors as the wiring is not the same but I believe I documented which ones go where, if not all we did was test each wire using a 9 volt and a couple wires to see what the mirror did.
I didn't get the R-Design mirror caps because I wanted ones to match my whole gunmetal scheme. However, the cost is going to be more than $300 unless you find a whole set of 07+ mirrors for cheap, and then the R-Design caps are $100+ if I recall correctly. I'd say for everything you are looking more at $350-500. If you are buying the mirrors new the higher end for sure. I personally bought the mirrors used off of ebay or some place like that, and paid around $230 for the set, but that was because they were on clearance from the seller, the original asking price was like $200 each. Also, be careful which ones you get, my new ones don't have puddle lights. Not a big deal to me but I was surprised to find that they have mirrors without them.
I love the larger size of the mirrors, much easier to see out of. But to be honest I kinda liked the sizing of the smaller ones as it made the car look a little bigger.

Re: (carreragt7)

...If you're that willing to spend all that money to change the look to the R-Design style, invest the money in a custom paint on the mirrors. It'll look almost exactly the same from a distance IMO
