DSTC hates washboard roads.
Buddies drug me on a hike last weekend in the north Cascades (Enchantments near Leavenworth for the locals). The last bit of road to the trailhead was bad. I should have just parked and walked in the rest of the way. No gravel thankfully, but the DSTC freaked out. I'll be chasing rattles for a month.
So, if you've done something equally abusive, did you have any bad results other than a desperate need for an alignment?

What do you mean it "freaked out"? Did you get any msgs or warning lights?
Did you slow down to get passed the bad area?

Re: R abuse (S60R1)

I did about 5-10mph through the rough, but it still felt like riding a paint mixer. "Freak out" meaning trying its damnedest to do its job. No lights, just corrective action overkill. I had to use reduced so it would stop fighting me.
I guess the upside is that it's still working like a champ.

Re: R abuse (Filson)

I have done it last year in UP, Michigan. 25 Miles of washboard roads but I have to say the car handled awsome. I did feel really bad about the abuse and washing off all that dust took all week.

DSTC = da suck
Mine made my car unable to get up a... 15degree(ish) incline in light snow (just wouldnt go forward... completely fought it). Turned it off, zipped right up like no snow.

DSTC is there for people who would get too wild without it. I beleive that you have to push it three times or it wont fully disengage. I cringe driving down those kind of roads btw.

Re: (Blurry)

only TRACS stays on ... TRACS was made for wet/snowy roads
TRACS uses the ABS to stop wheel ... same effect as a snowchain will do, stop and bite.

Normal Logic: Must go up hill to reach destination. Apply small pressure to gas, ease up snowy hill, monitoring slide.
DSTC Logic: WILL LOSE TRACTION! INHIBIT VEHICLE MOVEMENT UNTIL SPRING!

The reason i ask is i have pressed it 5 times fast and slow and I havent gotten any messages and the car still drives as if DTSC was still on, i dont get it?
