I stuck with my 300mm fronts because it was cheaper and I just got really good pads for it. Then again, I don’t track it, so I’m sure if you did it would be worth it. I'll probably upgrade next time I need pads/rotors
HOLD ON!, you car should have 320's from factory. What happened there?

Yeah no idea. That's what I thought too, until I got a set of 320mm Yellowstuff pads from EBC and they were clearly too big to fit. Got stuff for 300s and it fit perfectly.

That's weird. All T5 AWD M66 S40/V50's supposedly came with 320's from factory. Then C70's somewhere in 2010-ish started coming with them as well (mine came with 300's)

If you have a VIDA/Dice, try checking the car configuration data that's stored in the CEM, Right there will tell you what with which brakes the car came out from factory.

Even if you don’t track it the pedal feel is way better and the control of the pads is far superior to single piston calipers and the response is Way crisper without the slop from the floating caliper.

Too big as in length, width or thickness?

That's what she said. In that order.......
I had to take about 4 mil thickness off the front pads I got from EBC that should’ve got per their tech department before shipping. I like the Wilwood pads better but they don’t last as long.

I've seen 320mm pads in 300mm brakes. they're thicker, the pads extend past the rotor and almost collide between themselves if they're too worn down

Mine's a T5 M66 FWD. Wonder if that's it?

Thickness and height. Clearly meant for 320s, and mine are clearly 300s

One side went in, but the caliper wouldn't close because they were too tall and thick for the 300 calipers

Automotive tire Wheel Rim Synthetic rubber Road surface

Another thing I remembered when doing the upgrade to OEM 320's: The dust shields, either grab the 320 ones or you can modify the 300's like this:

I have them and I like them. I think they worth it because of the larger rotor size which provides:
  • More stopping power with same clamping force. (Yes, the 320mm caliper piston diameter is the same as the 300mm calipers)
  • Slightly better heat dissipation.
  • Caliper has a different design, looks sturdier, like less prone to flexing from piston pressure.
  • Caliper looks better, it fills the wheel better. (I hate brakes that look like this:

If you do the upgrade, that would be the perfect time to also upgrade to stainless steel braided lines and maybe also doing frankenbrakes (rear 302mm)
+one one the frankenbrakes. IPd stainless lines. (More than meets the eye) Still….. Wilwoods up front.$680 from Elevate isn’t expensive for a proven racing product which will outperform any stock caliper time and time again.
We’ve used Wilwood on our sprint cars for decades without issue. Solid.

I also discovered the cupholder rubber inserts have ripped or are not present. Any idea on where to find just the rubber parts for this so I don’t have to destroy the whole plastic cupholder insert?
I have looked for the same thing as I was able to buy just the rubber bits for my previous P80s. But no luck. I bought a whole new cup holder but the rubber is already tearing as it is probably just as old. I have looked into making ones out fo silicone, but no really pursued it yet.

According to iPd "Most" facelift M66 C30s came with 320mm fronts, but not all.
Mine is a '11 T5 M66 R-design and 300mm fronts.

My car is a base model, so I have to guess that is why it wasn't equipped with the 320mm. My dad's 2011 C70 also had 300mm, not 320mm.

It honestly seems kind of random which cars have them and which cars don't, especially for C70s and C30s
