I am currently looking for a V70, i have found a few 2001's with low miles. We all now about the Stop neutral issues in this year. My question, is whether there is a point where the damage is irreprable. For example: there was a super nice 60k mile 2001 t5 V70 but is that too far gone and would there be damage that a software update, ipd mount and flush could not take care of? or should i just try to look post 01.<p>Obviously its not just v70's with this issue, also S60's etc...

Re: Quick V70 question (bkrueger89)

01 and 02 transmissions are still crap. You may luck out with a 60K mile car but unless the S/N was removed and the tranny flushed out a long time (miles) ago, the damage is already done

Re: Quick V70 question (JRL)

right and thats what i was thinking, my 02 S60 has luckily had all service and so i have never had a problem. I guess ill just have to hope they have service records before i buy one or even go look at one. If i did do the update and flush at say 50k how would the situation look? (assuming i found a wagon in that mileage range.)
