Hi. I am looking at a 1 owner 98 Cross Country with 142k. Overall in excellent shape. Was serviced by Volvo till the warranty ran out than was serviced fanatically by the owner, including regular fluid changes(ie. brake, differential and trans) abs module rebuild. The car does not currently have any known problems. I have always driven 240's, love the cross country's however, have heard horror stories about there reliability and constant problems. Some of my friends have had major problems although they purchased the cars not knowing anything about prior ownership. Are these reliable when serviced since new by the dealer and then fanatically by the owner who know what he is doing. Anything in particular I should be looking for? Thanks in advance!

thanks for both of your replies, one of the things that the owner did tell me is that he was convinced that his lack of awd problems was that the tires were always the same tread. he also has records of everything that was ever serviced or repaired. Both my wife and I walk to work so if we buy this car it will probably only see 4-5k per year. Jim, if everything checks out what is a fair price?
