How have you quieted them down? My exhaust is too loud for my liking and the drone is loudest when I'm cruising at 65 mph.
Right now I have a 3" downpipe going to 3" piping with a Borla XR-1, then 2.5" Magnaflow resonator, to dual 2.25" piping coming out the back.
What muffler & resonator combo's do you guys have & how much louder/quieter are they than Evolve or other aftermarket exhausts?
Luciano, what resonators do you have after the Y-piece in your exhaust, before the tips?

R u nuts? That looks nasty!!! I have evolve w/res delete. I wish it was a little louder. I have one pipe. But I would think that your setup would be louder if u had only on outlet so I gues u should keep two

Re: Questions for S60 R Owners with Dual Exhausts (Bishen)

Does your downpipe have a cat? I have 2 resonators and a muffler on my modified Svenske setup and it is STILL reasonably loud. You have a lot of your sound dampening power right under you, which could potentially add to the drone. My resonators are closer to the front, but the muffler is in the rear. Going duel kinda limits your options

Downpipe is catless. I'm trying to figure out which resonators I can put after the Y-piece, before the tips. I am also thinking of adding a high flow cat or maybe another resonator in the downpipe depending on how much room I have and what will fit. What would you recommend?

I personally didn't because the resonator is 2.5" and the muffler is 3" so I didn't want to go from small to big to small. I put the resonator after the muffler so it could be 3" to 2.5" and then split into the Y-piece.

What muffler/resonator/piping setups are other dual exhaust owners running?

Thank you! It seems like most people with duals have loud exhausts. Phuz, where can I find those "ultra quiet" mufflers/resonators?

And has been known to choke about 30 HP!!

I have the same magnaflow too and love it, you can usually get a used one on ebay or cragislist. I wanted a valid warranty so I got it here. Magnaflow 16921. Also some of the forum sponsors usually have a sale going on. Either way its a great exhaust system, sounds great, and very easy to install.
