I have got a 70 T%5, from march 1998. It has a SC 900 audio system, with a great 3 cd changer, with many great errors
A friend of mine sold his Volvo and he has given me his CD changer, model: 9488926-1 (RTI) and with a cd magazine, with serial no: 9452189. I have found the pre wired cable, but these cables (cd changer and SC900) does not match with eachother.
What should I do?? I love to listen to music, my additional dvd player sounds horrible, with the extra FM Modulator, and my 3 cd changer in my SC 900 sucks.
If I want to upgrade everything that I can use the new 10 cd changer and still can use my boxes and with the possibility to use my dvd player without a FM modulator and it is capable to fit in my empty SC900. What will be the best option????
Thanks for answering my questions,
Best Regards,
Gerben
the Netherlands

Re: Question upgrade SC900 to a better system with a 10 cd changer! (Bergenbos)

I'm guessing that your friend had a 2000 or newer Volvo with an HU-XXX head unit. They were, and are, made by Mitsubishi Electric and communicate with the 10-cd changers over the proprietary MELBUS network.
Your head unit was made by Alpine and has a different interface. The multidisk changer for the SC-XXX head units is the 6-disk model (93533937-3 or 9204762-0).
pp .520, 524 http://acctest.semcon.se/pdf/X70.pdf
If your additional cd changer is an alpine or pioneer unit it may be possible to connect it directly to the HU--without the fm modulator. There are aftermarket alpine (M-bus) compatible adapters that will do that.
