Haven't had a chance to get mine in yet, but before I do I have a question. To do this properly, once the tie rods are replaced, should a wheel alignment be done? The reason I ask is the recall notice says (here in Canada anyway), that the service takes about 90 minutes which doesn't seem to be long enough for a tie rod replacement and a wheel alignment.
So what have your dealers been doing for this recall?

Re: Question about the right way to do the tie rod recall (flyboy320)

They should adjust the toe-in when done. That is the only adjustment the tie-rods have. 90-mins
is plenty of time.

Re: Question about the right way to do the tie rod recall (calridng)

My steering wheel was off after they did an alignment and I had to come back in the next day. Make sure both the alignment and the steering wheel are straight after this do to procedure.

Re: Question about the right way to do the tie rod recall (Tao)

The wheel alignment was done as part of my recall service. Just had this done yesterday.

Re: (flyboy320)

Volvo pays 1.4 hrs to perform this recall 84 min. the standard recall only includes the replace of the tie rods and adjusting the front toe.
