Well, my beloved wife finally did it - she curbed her XC90 on the passenger side and chewed up a spot on the front and rear wheels. I hate, hate, hate curb rash.

[But, it could be far worse - she ran into the garage door (from the inside backing out) twice with the last car, so this "incident" is far less painful.]

Went to see a local alloy wheel repair guy - he said he can handle the cosmetic repair. However, I have 2 questions:

1. Anyone know the purchase price for new OE Cratus 20" wheels? Just curious.

2. Tire repair guy described the finish as a silver matte, rather than shiny. That sounds correct to me - anyone else had wheel repair done on the wheels to offer more specific paint color analysis.

Thanks, and I promise, I wont be too hard on my wife. Ugh!!!!!

I've had wheels repaired. Cost is about $100/wheel or a little more. They've looked brand new each time. I would recommend that path over new wheels for the sake of saving $$$
