What is the replacement requirement if any for the timing belt on a 2005 XC70. I thought there was none and seem to remember being told that when we bought the car new, but that was a while ago and my memory is not too good:). Can't find any info in the documentation but the service guy (not dealer) says it is 120K but really should be done at 105K.

What's correct????

Thanks

Book is 120K, personally I would not wait.
105K is even a bit too long in some cases and it should be changed

Its also been 7 years since your 05 was made. That is the time threshold even when the mileage threshold isn't reached. Make sure the work includes the TENSIONER and IDLER PULLEY. The belt is made of titanium in comparison to the pulley mechanisms.

I'll probably change my 2005 belt when it reaches 100,000 miles, which at the rate I am driving now should be in 3 years.
