If you start your 2006 S40 T5 one day and the CEL comes on with the following codes:

p0102 Mass or Volume Air Flow “A” Circuit Low
p0445 Evaporative Emission System Purge Control Valve Circuit Shorted
p0079 Exhaust Valve Control Solenoid Circuit Low Bank 1
p0076 Intake Valve Control Solenoid Circuit Low Bank 1
p0245 Turbocharger/Supercharger Wastegate Solenoid “A” Low
p2419 Evaporative Emission System Switching Valve Control Circuit Low
p2401 Evaporative Emission System Leak Detection Pump Control Circuit Low

Do NOT replace your MAF Sensor, look for the blown 15A fuse in position 35, and replace that first. I suppose I probably needed to replace the MAF soon anyway (nearly 100k miles on the car). Thank god they only cost $100.....

Of course, my tune may change if I go out in the morning, start the car, and my fuse blows again......then I have a short and life is NOT good. fingers crossed....:angryfire:

UPDATE -- intermittent short turned out to be the pre-heater in the breather box. this car had the 'screamer' issue a few years back and the entire pcv system was replaced under warranty. now it has been replaced again, this time on my dime.... so if you have a short in this circuit, this might be a good place to start your analysis...
