I'm planning on getting my 240 DL Wagon painted this Spring. The previous owner had a very poor paint job applied, and within a year the front edge of the hood had numerous chips in it - some clean through to the bare metal.

Does anyone have any ideas for protecting this vulnerable part of the car? Not a big fan of the bras, so was considering one of those low-profile plexiglass sheilds....

Look into a clear bra from companies such as armourfend: www.armourfendamerica.com or X-PEL: http://www.xpel.com/paint/applications.html.

They're pricey but are very effective and practically invisible.

Thanks for the info. I looked into the XPEL product and found a few local businesses who have experience applying it.
