Given the bad reviews that most dealers get here, it's only fair to note the positives. Turner Volvo in Sacramento treated me well in the replacement of a leaking rear differential. They worked with my extended warranty provider (Carmax) seamlessly, and, without my asking, had their rental car provider drop the car rate to the $25/day my warranty covered.

This is the second time they've done me a "solid" without my asking, as they managed to get my last oil/filter change covered by Volvo as a "goodwill" gesture.

I'm pretty happy I shelled out for the extended warranty at the time of purchase. It's already paid for itself and I have another four years and 50,000 miles of coverage to go.

Re: Props for a Sacramento dealer (RexB)

Oh damn the Service Advisor Chuck was telling me about your car yesterday when I was there getting my brakes looked at on my R (freaking break sqweel). He was explaining to me about the VIP serivce and how its a good deal to get especially when poop goes bad after the standard warranty. Your car came up in conversation explaining the benifits of having a extended warranty on these cars.

I would have to say i felt pretty welcomed there as they listened to all my questions and even assured me that the premature side bolster issue could be taken care of when i decide to have it done, without issue.

So far so good.

If you can still get an extended warranty or VIP, you should do it. The R is a long way from bullet proof, and the the fixes can be pricey. Like I said, I paid about an extra $1000 for the extended warranty, and it's already paid for itself. Now I'm playing with House money for the next four years.... http://********************/smile/emthup.gif
