hey guys,
I just got a volvo 940 sedan and i have been very unsatisfied with the overall look and performance of my headlights. I had a honda civic before this car and i knew of several conversions that involved taking the projector beams out of bmw headlights and putting them into the civic's headlights. I notice that the 940 has alot of empty space inside the headlight itself, and i was wondering if anybody knows if this would work.

Re: projector headlight conversion (gdill2)

Thanks for the reply! Where could i find these european-spec headlights? i have looked on ebay and not much help there... MS patrol don't really enforce anything but wanna-be street racers with red or blue underglow... haha! so i'm pretty sure that the headlights are game.

Mike,
If you decide to alter the lighting better retain all the stock stuff in case the new lights do not pass inspection.
George Dill
George,
I'm not sure what 'Inspection' entails in either Texas or Missouri, but if it's anything like Oregon, your caution's wasted. Given half a chance (and a few dollars) I want to change our State slogan to "Oregon: Play Headlight Joust!"
...the only thing 'inspected' here is emissions. You can blind anyone you like
Disclaimer: I do have a set of non-DOT-approved Hellas on my '70 144s...but they're correctly aimed!
Hello there, I was just searching around for some info and came upon your post. If you want to be creative, yes... you can projector headlight convert your 940 headlights. If, I'm reading you correct you want to fit both round headlights of a BMW into the Volvo...
Is this what you want?

They looked great! Anyone that knew about Volvo asked, how I did it. I was about 2 years ago, when I got this Angel Eye Madness form the BMW and made them.
Looked awesome!!!!!!!!

Although have an electro mecanic work the electricity out. I ran upon a problem with one of the Angel Eye rings, when at the electromecanic a small lizard ate the Angel Eye ring. I was down, so I changed to white instead of green. Then I made another mistake, replaced the bulbs with original Volvo Bulbs and it all went down hill from there, little night vision...
So, I was sad when I decided to get them out and EuroConvert the Front End.
This is my car now!

I encorage you to plan this out and don't repeat the mistakes I made, LEAVE THE PROJECTORS THE WAY THEY CAME, DON'T MESS THE BULBS AROUND!! Just add the Angel Eyes if you want. Try to find a 4" or similar headlight for the project in order to work out.
Here is the direct link to my website where I made the adaptor!
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/444931/6
Feel free to contact me!

yeah!! That was once a Volvo!!
Good luck with the proyect, I'll really would like to see it!!

Re: projector headlight conversion (Lucky_Avalon)

Love the audacity. Easily the best headlight job I've seen on a 900-series; too bad it didn't work out. Looked bloody GREAT.
