The production Lynk & Co 03 has surfaced ahead of its upcoming debut at the 2018 Chengdu Auto Show next month.

Lynk & Co, if you need reminding (and we wouldn't blame you), is a newly launched, millennial-focused brand owned by Volvo owner Geely. The 03 you see here is the production version of the concept first shown last spring and it stays true to the styling exercise with the same two-part headlights and modern rear taillights. We actually quite like the look of this sedan, but it's definitely not for everybody.

According to Autocar, the 03 will be offered with 1.5-liter three-cylinder and 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engines in China. The sedan shares the Geely-Volvo CMA platform with the XC40, so the engines are likely the same or very similar to the 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter engines found in the newly launched compact crossover. A plug-in hybrid with up to 40 miles of pure electric range is expected as well, which will also launch in Europe at some point.

Speaking of foreign expansion, Lynk & Co has suggested that it would one day like to build and sell vehicles in the United States. American tastes would probably make the Lynk & Co 01 and 02 crossovers more popular than the 03, but we'd love to see this radically designed four-door in North America one day as well. The company is planning to sell its vehicles in Europe through a combination of online sales and retail brand "boutiques." It wants to offer subscription models with its vehicles as well.

The Lynk & Co 03 will be launched in Chengdu in mid-September.
