I have an 07 3.2 I6 FWD. I had my #4 coil replaced in December, and now my #4 and #1 are both misfiring...has anyone else had any problems with the coils? Could it be spark plug related or did I just get a bad part last time? I've ordered OEM coils this time and hubby will be doing the job here.

We've only had the car since October. It was a one owner before we bought it, but for the last year there were no significant carfax records, although up to that point they were very good at taking it to the dealer for maintenance and such. I am putting premium gas in, as the manual says, although I've heard different thoughts on that.

Thanks in advance for any input :)

Certainly misfires can be spark plug related, and usually are the cause of misfires. It's unusual that your coil was replaced without any plugs.

How many miles on your car? I believe spark plugs are replaced at 75,000 mile intervals on that engine.

Before replacing coils, I would put new Volvo plugs in the car.

Misfires not cured by plugs/coils on that engine are pretty unusual.
