Welcome!
My. I bought a Volvo XC90 V8 Summum with RSE Dual Screen DVD system. The Problem is- the DVD system suddenly stopped working, I've changed batteries in Remote Control, but it still doesen't work. The local Volvo Service doesen't know how to repair the system. Could You send me some informations about most common problems and how to repair it?
Please write back.
V8Race

Re: Problems with DVD RSE Dual screen system:( (v8race)

This is the Volvo system that you have? And they can't find the problem?
*shake head*
I really feel for all the people with poor quality service departments.

Does the unit power on at all? If not, check the fuses. I don't have the RSE so I don't know which fuse it is connected to but it is probably the same fuse as the power socket in the dash.
I feel really sorry for you and the obviously bad service you are getting. Don't dealers have access to problem isolation information from Volvo that would tell them how to track down and solve this problem?

Check if your 12 volt outlet in the dash next to the shifter is working. If not then you might have blown fuse #11 in the CEM.
The 12 volt outlet and the RSE share the same power line and fuse.

All Volvo dealers in the U.S. have access to a regional technical specialist and I am told that the regional technical specialist has access all the way up the food chain to Sweden.

I live in Poland, and Volvo is from U.S.
They had 2hours to find the problem but they said that it wasn't much time so I'll go to local service again and I'll leave my car there for 5 hours. If they won't find the matter I'll go to service in Germany

Glad to know you fixed your RSE, for I too had intermittent blown fuse #11. Happened three times starting about four months ago. Had my dealer look into why the fuse keep blowing and they found nothing. I don't use the 12 volt outlet so I was suspecting a short somewhere.

Could have saved the trip if we knew it was a U.S. car...

But... the car was made in Sweden, and the local dealer importet 2 XC90 V8 with full equipment that was made for U.S. So it was 20% cheaper an' i have some extra options that are unavible in Poland
