problems areas for xc90

Thought i would start one - could not find one using the search feature. I will as people post.

COMMON ONES:
Suspension - sway bar/tie rods
T6 Engine - AVOID FROM PURCHASING USED.

Can't say the 'sway bar' itself is a common issue but the end-links sure do wear out often. Control arm bushings also wear out pretty quickly.

... water ingress in the rears. It's very common in northern climates (ie cold, damp months). All P2 volvo's are susceptible.

Another less common issue, also in cold damp climates, is with the fuel pump control module that dies from a corroded connector, the fix is with a new part and harness that relocates the module to INSIDE the vehicle (similar to a known issue with the V&S40).
