There is a great thread off the top of my head taking about the different haldex awd modules. I would lean towards the owner taking care of it and replacing the filter and fluid.

They only year for the 3.2 you have to be careful for is 2007. That is when the Aisin TF-80SC still had valve body issues. The 3.2 overall and drive gear are pretty bulletproof with proper maintenance.

If you have a choice, I'd shoot for 2011-onwards. The rear engine accessory drive (READ) went to ball bearings instead of roller bearing. Lots of other changes for the 2011 model year.
