[JHEIII850Turbo]

When I am at a complete stop, but still in drive, for example, waiting at a light... With the A/C on, I feel a slight bump going through the car, which occurs repeatedly, almost like a murmur, but it only occurs when the A/C is on. When the A/C is off, it doesn't occur.

This is a 1996 850 Turbo (t-5) Automatic Transmission

I think that this is the clutch engaging the compressor cycling on and off. I feel this exact same thing in my 960 as well, when the A/C is turned on, happens at stoplights. Something normal and not a problem, I don't think.

OK, thanks for the reply, Drew. I suppose that this is more a pet peeve, than something wrong with the car.

Is there any way to get rid of this?

I think your compressor is just old. Ours doesn't vibrate much, but it makes this weird noise telling you that the compressor is on. Ours was pretty quiet when it was new, but 8 years later...

Hmm, good point. Never thought of that one... did you replace it?

I purchased the car used from a Volvo dealership, who had just recently replaced the A/C, so I got a one year warranty on the vehicle, I have had the car for about 9 months... so I was wondering, do you all think that the compressor would have been replaced along with the a/c unit?

If you have the warranty, and it covers labor to check it out, you may just want to bring it by the dealership. Mind as well let them check it out if it's free.

Yeah, I'm going by there today after school, hopefully they'll take me seriously, and won't just laugh and point at me. Last time, they said I had "destroyed" their car, with the modifications, so this morning I replaced my chip with the stock chip... WHOA! what a difference in speed... so they can't b1tch at me about the chip.
