Hi guys. My slave is leaking and I wanted to take advantage of this to freshen up on a few other parts and fluids while I'm in there. Right now I'm thinking:
Slave cylinder
Clutch kit
Flywheel
Rear main seal
Angle gear collar (I'm assuming the shaft needs to come off for the job)
Motor/Transmission mounts (still debating these)
Transmission fluid
Angle gear fluid
Brake fluid
Am I missing anything? Even if I don't use all the parts, depending on their condition once I get in there, I'd like to have them on hand, just in case.

^^ I juuuust finished deleting that part of my original post because I got your e-mail lol
You said it was a direct fit though. The autos had different teeth on the collar? Weird.
Thanks for the P/N btw!

new "upgraded" MT part, direct fit to old MT part
few things are more confusing in life
bottom line, order 31256008, it will be somewhat of an upgrade over the old part

Speaking with two of my favorite techs this morning, the Air Vent Pipe should be replaced along with the other clutch pieces:

This piece connects directly to the slave cylinger/throw-out bearing and the hydraulic hose that goes to the clutch master cylinder.
They also mentioned bleeding the clutch line of all air. They said that sometimes they leave the rear of the car lifted all night in order to get all of the air out. They also said that Volvo's special tool is needed to properly pre-load the pressure plate. I counted five Volvo special tools needed for a clutch replacement in the VIDA software.
John
Modified by Parts @ Boston Volvo at 7:36 AM 7-16-2009

Other optional ones: input shaft seal, and flywheel bolts.

^^ wow, very good stuff from everyone. I'm going to start a parts list there's no way I'll remember everything lol

Quote, originally posted by FEO »

...it will be somewhat of an upgrade over the old part

I'm actually afraid of doing the collar, because if my original one has held on for 97k miles with spirited driving and launches, should I really replace it? The thing might be caked on solid as a rock. Then again, it might be on its last legs too. I think my plan will work here, have all parts on hand and decide what to replace upon a visual inspection. Oh boy.

I wonder if the "dashpot" needs to be bought separately. According to Volvo, it is included with the purchase of the slave cyl/TOB
http://forums.swedespeed.com/z...68396
