I finally installed my iMiv last night. I had been waiting until a nice weekend and somehow last night realized that I could use the nice weekend to go driving to test it out instead.
The install went fine, it worked with all my ipods right away. I have to tell you, I dont look forward to getting behind the HU anytime soon, but I know more now than before. I chose to put the iMiv behind the glove compartment (for now). Theres a nook there and I can still get to the RCAs if i need to. It does have to be in exactly the right spot or the glovebox wont close, I'm waiting a day or two before I secure it with something like velcro. The iPod wire runs along the center console (behind the trim) and for now, surfaces between the console and the passenger side seat. I wanted to have it come up thru the bottom of the CD storage compartment, but I figured I'd ask around before I drilled. It was getting late and I didnt want to make any mistakes.
In your opinion(s) :
1. Where is the best place to have the iMiv mounted? (invisibility 80% important, convenience 20%)
2. Where is the most practical place to route the iPod cable? I dont picture myself needing the iPod visible all the time and, I really want the cable to come from the storage area, but i dont want to lose out on storage.

Thanks...

Where is the best place to have the iMiv mounted? (invisibility 80% important, convenience 20%)
My iMIV is in the same area. It is at the end of the dash on the passenger side. The iMIV is accessable behind the removal panel that is visible with the passenger front door open. I used this spot because I was also installing an XM and wanted the XM reciever near the iMIV.

2. Where is the most practical place to route the iPod cable? One hole drilled in the back of the console (big enough for the iPOD cable plug) was all it took. I ran the cable on the side of the transmission hump, behind the plastic trim.

Thanks!
I still have it hanging from under the console... , but I'm looking at finally drilling a hole (or slot) in the storage bin and a velcro mount on the wall.
