Given that the boost in our cars is controlled via the ECU, is it possible to install a manual boost control valve to increase boost production or will the ECU fight it. In otherwords I want to bleed off the pressure from the TCV to the wastegate using a bleed valve in order to increase boost to 20 psi from my current 15psi. But since the ECU controls boost production via wastegate actuation, will the MAP sensor register the increased manifold pressure in which case the ECU will compensate by increasing pressure to the wastegate thereby compensating for my bleed valve. I've been told that some of the old school Porsche guys did this in their 911 turbo's but that was on the older 930 chassis where boost actuation was purely spring driven.
