Yep, mine has the beige interior also. The only thing is that I got 16" rims. I'm the second owner and the original owner chose to go with the 16" rims that looks like the late '60s Torque Thrusters. They sort of looks like the latest Mustang GT rims that they call the Bullet look-a-likes from the '60 Mustang that Steve McQueen drove.

Haven't seen any other Volvos with them though, so thats good... They only thing is that they look a little small even though the overall height is about the same as the 17" rims. Optical illusion I guess.

If you didn't know any better it looks like any other Volvo. But then there is a little badge with the letter "R"...

I would be interested in Production #'s as well. I have a 97 855r white/tan as well.
What do you guys think about White painted wheels for your car? I have an extra set of 17" Volans that I may get refinished in white. Any one seen this done?Pics?

I think I'll pass on the white rims. Reminds me of the Miami Vice look where all the Benzs had the monochromatic paint jobs.

Hey, I just read somewhere that they only made three white/beige 1997 855Rs. Guess who got them? Nah...just kidding! But, wouldn't it be cool if we knew where every car was? Do you think these cars going to be collector items in the future? That would be cool too, maybe we could get our money back and then some in case we had to sell it. Just a thought...

I really think the R wagons are much more collectable than the sedans. I don't know the different production numbers but will guess there are many more R sedans.

As I type this there are 5 R sedans on ebay - FIVE! two are yellow 95's too BTW.

I love that yellow in a T5-R wagon but after a long time lookin I gave up and bought 97 white instead.

I think we need a site dedicated to 95-97 R owners that would have specs, production numbers, BTCC data, a registry and an email list to join.

who's got the time though...
