you will hear the turbo working a lot more with an open intake. also take off the sound insulation mat under the hood.

No one will notice the underhood liner missing...I doubt it anyway.
Get the intake and you will really hear the turbo.

Re: (chromecarz00)

Really! If you are considering a blow off valve, you should even hesitate at the idea of an intake and or removing the sound deadening.
My understanding that a blow off valve is useless on the C30. Unless you are looking to enhance the sound of the turbo, it's not going to make much of a difference.
The T5 uses a compressor bypass valve instead of a blowoff valve, so the air goes into the intake.
You can replace it with a blowoff valve, but since the bypass valve is after the airflow sensor, it will cause the engine to run rich.
This will eventually lead to a failure of the catalytic converter.

It makes a huge difference!!!
I agree with the rest of the folks here. With you already running BSR Stage II and contemplating a BOV, installing an intake and removing the blanket is nothing you should even hesitate about.

Re: (apoLLoT5^)

Although i havent gotten around to doing it yet heres some info that i verified with IPD and from my own research have determined BOV's are more than fine for our setups minus the misconception from most swedespeed members.
http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=116197

Re: (apoLLoT5^)

I think they were refering to removing the blanket after installing the aftermarket intake. The stock air box cuts down a lot of turbo noise.

The Typhoon, do you have a drop in panel filter into the stock air box?

Re: (ForceFed Motorsports)

So I removed my hood blanket tonight, testing the sound before and after. To be completely honest it doesn't sound that much different, if at all. It is super easy to take off and put back on, so it won't hurt for anyone wanting to do it to try it out and see. I will probably just put mine back on.

Re: (apoLLoT5^)

You would hear the turbo much better with a open filter like the BSR or K&N kits that replace the factory air box. If your just lookin for more sound from the turbo id look into either of those.
