I was looking through available POI categories, and found things like Casinos, but no Churches. Is it true, or am I doing something wrong?

Also, when I pick a category like restaurants, I have to pick a specific one before I can get a display on the map... Again, am i doing something wrong? I'm disappointed by what I've seen so far.

I'm not surprised by the churches thing since churches are member driven and aren't really destinations for people driving around like restaurants, attractions and fuel stations are. This obviously excludes architecturally significant churches or what not.

As far as needing to select a restaurant before the map appears I've seen many nav systems like that because typically when you pick a restaurant it's because you want to drive to it. Displaying a bunch on the map would either be difficult considering the resolution of many of these screens and it also would not make much sense since you wouldn't drive to one without selecting it as a destination.

On my 2010 Lexus ES 350, you just go to the voice command and say "I am hungry" and it will show all the restaurants in the area, with names, tel number and a small flag indicating type of food. Or you can say, "show Italian restaurants" and it will do that.

But it gives you all of that information on the map screen and not a list?

Voice activated, you get the map with the locations. Then when you touch one, it gives you the tel #.

I haven't tried it in a long time. First time, i was waiting for my wife to return from Dr. office. I was playing with the new toy and just couldn't get the thing to work. I had the windows open and next to me there was an old duffer. Every time I would say "I am hungry" the reply was something like switching the wipers on, or next time it would say lowering the temperature to 64 degrees, etc. I guess I didn't notice my frustration, but I kept raising my voice...I AM HUNGRY and the old duffer kept looking at me with a quizzical look in his face. Finally I gave it up. Then I noticed the ol' guy's wife got in the car and they just sat there for a while, looking at me and perhaps expecting me to start yelling I AM HUNGRY! I must have made their day...

To get the list, you go to the POI selection and then it will give you the list.

Churches are not listed. As far as restaurants, many of them are listed by names and then they have general listing by type, such as Vietnamese, Mexican, Italian, etc.
