For the love of god.
It's a 1993 940T. It sat for a couple years before I got it. I swapped on a professionally rebuilt head and a 15G and now it's having a whole host of issues.
1. It has a stutter/bog down around 2000 RPM's. When I disconnect the AMM and rev it up the issue is gone, but then I plug it in and rev it up and it's back. I bought a new AMM and still the same issue. I was thinking back and realized it had this same issue before I tore down the engine, but I attributed it to a ****ed up turbo at that time.
2. I developed a misfire somewhere along the line that only occurs when the car is cold and even then not until I put it under load. It's a misfire in second cylinder from the front. I figured this out because I drove it to the local auto shop to buy some spark plugs and that spark plug was cold while each of the others were hot as hell. So, I swap in a brand new spark plug and still have a misfire. Before this, I swapped on a brand new set of spark plug wires as well. The misfire is essentially gone after the car has warmed up and won't come back until it's cooled down.
3. Today I pulled all the intercooler piping and the intercooler and found that there wasn't any gunk in the intercooler which is confusing as **** considering how ****ed the last turbocharger is. I did find that the cold side was filled up with gunky oil and I started to get pissed because I figured the seals were blown, but then I noticed the PCV pipe that runs from the flame trap over the valve cover and into the AMM to turbo pipe was oily as hell and that oil started to show up in the pipe right where the PCV pipe feeds in so I'm thinking I have alot of positive crankcase pressure. It wasn't smoking at all so I don't think the seals are bad.
4. This issue has been here since I got it running two weeks ago. I have no boost. I'm assuming this isn't a big issue because I need to get my damn engine running right, but I basically get nothing past a 1/4 inch where the bar starts on the stock 940 boost gauge. This might be an issue with the wastegate being as I don't really know how to adjust it correctly.
5. My e-fan doesn't work either as I found out, so does anyone know where the relays and **** are located for that?

So, I basically don't know where to start and need some advice on **** to start checking.

"It sat for a couple years..."
Consider a full rehab of the fuel system - fuel pump(s), filters, lines, injectors, etc.
Before all that dump the OBD codes.
If you are unsure of the status of the Ox sensor(s) test and replace as needed - same for cat (could be plugged from poor mixture).
Here is a very good info site on all aspects of 700/900 ownership...
http://www.brickboard.com/FAQ/700-900/
...and other sites for info on the B230FT in your 940 are found here...
http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=118149
George Dill
