Planes, trains, and automobiles…

Did you build or play with models as a kid? Are you flying to Europe to pick up a new Volvo? Whether or not you take a trip across the pond and see this in person, you should at least watch this video.

It is unbelievable…

The Miniatur Wunderland model railroad in Hamburg, Germany is the largest miniature railroad in the world, covering 16,146 square feet of space with more than 10,000 train cars running around its 6.8 miles of HO scale track. This huge layout can be seen on a video that gives you a jaw-dropping look at the vast scope of this intricate work of art. Its construction started in 2000, and is still underway, with a tiny airport due for completion by the end of this year.

The trains visit Scandinavia of course and if you look closely it appears that there even are some Volvo model cars. This is just the beginning…there are plans to double the track layout by 2014. There is even a Las Vegas portion, complete with dazzling LED's lighting up the night. The project has taken in excess of 500,000 working hours to build.

It's no wonder why this is one of Germany's most popular attractions, visited by more than 5 million tourists.

Watch the four minute Miniatur Wunderland Video to get a glimpse of this amazing exhibit:

Bob,

It's Germany...

They gotta have beer.

You are just going to have to drink it in minature mugs!
