I am ordering custom Wiseco pistons for my motor build. I am using a B5234T9 block with an R crank and 143mm H-beam K1 rods, and I am trying to figure out what pistons I need.
I know the stock 4T9 crank is 90mm stroke, and the stock rods are 147mm. The compression height seems to be 30.5mm.
I know the stock specs for an R motor (4T4) is 93.2mm stroke, 143mm rods, and also 30.5mm compression height.
I was about to order 9.0:1 04-07 R pistons with an 81mm bore (essentially pistons for a 4T5), but I think that the deck height will be off. Visualizing the crank at TDC, the T9 assemblies are 45mm half stroke + 147mm rod + 30.5mm compression height = 222.5mm block height. The R assembly is 46.6mm half stroke + 143mm rod + 30.5mm compression height=220.1mm block height.
Am I screwing something up in this calculation? I have been told that 30.5mm is the compression height that I need, and I have been told that all whiteblocks have the same block height, but I can't square the numbers and I want to be 100% sure before ordering custom pistons.
